how's it going on DA?
I'm writing to ask you all to give a few seconds of your time to help support me and my little video project mishmash.gettyimages.com/en/en… . I entered a competition and I wanted to make a video that would inspire people to take on each new day with optimism, energy and courage.

Hi Guys, ready for winter?
I suppose you've read the info under each picture saying the stock is free to use, so you don't need to ask me permission. Thank you for your notes and +FAVs though. I must apologize since I can't keep track of all the notes coming in. I'll do my best to respond though! promise.
YES you can use it for commercial use
YES you can warp it around as much as you want without letting me know
YES you can earn money from it, you'll probably need to rework it really well first before any mooolah starts coming in.
and for those of you guessing, YES some of this work was published in Kamelot's Ghost Opera album, amongst others.
I shoot all the time and have used DA resources myself in some projects, so I only make things go full circle by giving back high res files of what I think might be useful to the community.

A note to KAMELOT and JACK SLATER

Dear Designers, Kamelot and Jack Slater,
You know, I'm a really easy going person. I did say that all the images on my page are free stock, and I mean FREE! Some of you have used these high res pictures, published them and made loads of money, and you know what, that's great! Shows your designs are valued, but also shows that something struck a chord with the photos I made.
Dear Kamelot team: you've used my photos as album covers TWICE, they're all over town, in every normal record shop I can think of in the US and Europe (maybe more in Europe no?). A simple thank you would be nice. You can go off and rant about how unjust the world is, and a simple gesture of kindness towards another individual is forgotten? Tsk. Shame. And who's the graphic designer that did it? Whaaaat what? no email, nothing? surely something like this should be celebrated by all parties involved no? Shame.
Jack Slater, that applies to you too.
At the end of the day, designs, images, artwork and all are hard to control once published online. It's hard to track, and hard to limit usage. I'm fine with people using this stuff, but you know, a simple thanks straight from lips (or keyboard) would be nice.
We will be kind and share with one another, that's how the world continues to grow and flourish in creativity.
Karma will come around to those who forget to do the simplest acts of kindness.

almost all the manips i see with my photos, so i can keep track of how people use the picture. it is a good exercise for all graphic artists out there to see what already exists, and veer away from it and do something personal. i know almost all the tricks of graphic design aren't new anymore. but what is personal is what swims in each of our heads, what stirs in our hearts.
i also have observed that there is soooo much angry and painful images. understandable. it's tough for us to cope with this whole information overload in the world and still struggle to feel worthy and good. but i do encourage all of you to draw and create happy pictures too.
i feel it is easier to bitch than to praise. praise the sunny day, praise the yummy dinner you had, praise the funky clothes you've got (or you've got hidden in your closet). good. praise jokes and odd people and children and their invisible friends. draw it, write about it. DA is a direct reflection of the emotions running in the users minds. a lot is dark. it's not wrong, but maybe each of us can find a balance. a little source of happy.
that's all for now. oh. please do NOT use any of my pictures in my main account as stock. if i find anyone using those photos for anything i will make sure it is taken down. so please be sensitive to that. free photos are here. not at
